PLEASE NOTE: If SAD 61 school district cancels school in the morning due to inclement weather we will not be having classes that day. If we decide to close early due to inclement weather, you can check your local television stations, (Channel 6, 8 or 13) to see the cancellation of MSAD 61 & 72 Adult Education. If we close early due to inclement weather no classes will be held after the closure time.

NRA certified First Steps is for the first time shooter. This 3 hours First Steps class is designed to provide a hands-on introduction to the safe handling and proper orientation to one specific pistol action type for classes. This course includes classroom and range time learning to shoot a specific pistol action type. Students will learn the NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; the particular pistol model parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development. You will receive live fire range time at the Western Maine Fish & Game in Harrison to be scheduled with instructor. The first day of class is from 5:00 – 8:00 PM and the second is from 5:00 – 8:00 PM

This 8- hour course gives participants the “Prerequisite Knowledge, Skills and Attitude,” essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and innocent third persons and to provide information on the law-abiding citizen’s right to self defense. Includes 3 hour Basic Defensive Handgun Skills. Range time to be scheduled with instructor at the Western Maine Fish & Game in Harrison.

Firearms and the Law
January 30th, March 6th and May 21st ~ 5:30 - 8:00 PM
Additionally, Maine CWP Training includes “Firearms and the Law”: Possession, Ownership and the Use of Deadly and Non-Deadly Force. This three hour segment is also offered separately. Respected attorney John W. Chapman of Portland delivers this comprehensive, power packed real life delivery on how the law affects you and your decisions, when employing a firearm for self defense. Never seen before because of our “Total Participant Involvement”.
