NRA Certified First Steps

Maine CWP Training will be conducting the NRA Certified First Steps course in two hour classroom sessions (4 TIMES AVAILABLE) from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. First Steps is designed to provide new pistol owners and shooters a hands-on introduction to the safe handling and proper orientation to one specific pistol action type for classes of four or fewer students. This course includes classroom and range time learning to shoot a specific pistol action type. Students will learn the NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; the particular pistol model parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development. We schedule required range exercises 7-days a week by appointment for your convenience. We have firearms available at no charge ~ the only additional charge is for 100 rounds of ammunition. The NRA certified Basic Personal Protection in the Home

This 8- hour NRA certified course gives participants the “Prerequisite Knowledge, Skills and Attitude,” essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and innocent third persons and to provide information on the law-abiding citizen’s constitutional right to self-defense. Includes 3-hour Basic Defensive Handgun Skills. Range time scheduled 7-days a week by appointment for your convenience with your firearm and 100 Rounds of ammunition. We have firearms available at no charge ~ the only additional charge is for 100 rounds of ammunition.

Firearms and the Law – Begins at 9AM on each date!

Maine CWP Training offers “Firearms and the Law”: Possession, Ownership and the Use of Deadly and Non-Deadly Force. This 2 1/2 ~ 3 hour segment is also offered separately for $35. Respected attorney John W. Chapman delivers this comprehensive, power packed real life delivery on how the law affects you and your decisions, when employing a firearm for self defense. Never seen before because of our “Total Participant Involvement”.
